The Biography of the Senior Pastor: Prophetess Armatha Best Floyd .

Prophetess Armatha Best Floyd - born in Washington DC on May 13, 1944 as the oldest child of eight siblings to the late Bishop L. E. Best and Prophetess Agnes Best who provided a spiritualupbringing early in her life. Her parents moved to Whiteville, NC where she grew up for most of her life and flourished in the process. ProphetessArmatha Best Floyd finished high school at Central High in Whiteville, NC. Afterwards,she moved on to pursue her career as a licensed Cosmetologist by attending andgraduating from Dichasia Beauty College in Durham NC. As a teenager she met and fellin love with a God fearing, warm, carrying, unselfish, singing, preaching, protective, hardworking, diligent, determined, handsome man who attended her father’s church veryfaithfully. He was not only faithful to God and his church but faithful to her as he wouldride bicycles from Evergreen NC to Whiteville, NC just to see her. Needless to say, shemarried that man. Prophetess Armatha Best Floyd married the late honorable BishopE. Floyd Jr. on June 14, 1964. To this union the Lord blessed them with three beautiful,gifted, children who also worked faithful in their father’s ministry. Lawrence Floyd,Missionary Octavia Floyd, and Minister Waticia Floyd McDonald (Benjamin McDonald).As parents, they worked diligently in the house of God in many different capacitieswithin the church as they both grew and matured in Christ, never becoming stagnant tothe call of duty. Prophetess Armatha Best Floyd served in ministry on the Usher board,various choirs, Lead Kitchen Coordinator and Revivalist while under the leadership ofher father. Not only has this Women of God had to the opportunity to workalong with the late honorable Bishop L. E. Best but she has had the opportunityto work beside her husband, the late honorable Bishop E. Floyd Jr. as the Lordelevated them to become founding Pastors of the chartering works,” The UnitedPentecostal Churches of Christ EST 1971. She has worked by his side everystep of the way. In tough times in great times, and all the remarkable times shestayed prayed up through during them all. They were married for 49 wonderfulyears and total 52 years of ministry. During this time, she has labored with him asCo-Pastor, Elect Lady, National Mother, Noon Day prayer leader, Children’schurch Senior Coordinator, Fasting and Prayer Leader and the list goes on. Shehas labored for the saints of God not only at United Pentecostal Churches ofChrist but for people all over in many different parts of the world. Her attitude iscontagious and her Leadership is impeccable. There is no limit to what God cando through this Women of God’s prayers and fasting. Her prophecies have beenfulfilled in the lives of many people; her words of encouragement can be felt deepwithin. Her eyes are piercing which some feel God, just by looking into them. ToGod be Glory for what he is doing in the life of this Prophetess who has withstoodthe task, and stayed on the wall for such a time as this. We, The United Familydo not take her lightly but praise God for our opportunity to cherish our Co- Founder and Jewel whom God has given us to help lead us into the path thatGod has destined. We have no doubt that she will carry on the works into higherheights and deeper depths in the things of God.
